The Server Rules! (Will continue to be updated and added)
Please note that it is your responsibility to keep up to date with any changes or additions to the server rules. An Admin or Moderator will also make a general announcement in game whenever the rules have been updated or added on.
The Basics:
• Keep chat and your character name clean. Do not use excessive language or racial slurs.
• No exploiting, cheating, glitching, duping, etc. Players caught doing this will get perma-banned on the first offense.
• New Players that are becoming familiar with the game should read the "Tips to Protecting your home" to ensure you are raid proof.
• 1.
No KOS! Means that you need a reason to kill someone. You can't just run into a player and kill them.
• 2.
If you are bandits, then name your guild 'Bandit Guild' 'Outlaws' or anything that states you are bandits! You have the right to tax anybody you see once per full day/night cycle (this may be adjusted again). The bandit must identify themselves and then type in global chat that they are taxing you. If the player does not pay, the bandit may try to capture them with a rope to make them their slave for an entire day/night cycle. If they try to run away anyways you are free to kill them. If the bandit(s) are defeated by the player you are attempting to capture / kill, you are not allowed to respawn and continue fighting that player for the remainder of the day cycle. If other friendly players are attempting to defend that player, you are not allowed to respawn and continue fighting if you are defeated for the remainder of the day cycle. (Please also refer to # 14)
• 2B.
You may tax the following by stating it in global chat, however the person being taxed can choose which resource to give: (Stone / Iron / Wood / Oil) or any alternative agreed upon by both parties. If the player is able to pay the tax, you must immediately let him go. The following is a list of tax you may charge a player:
Naked Person: 100 stack
Leather Armor: 200 stack
Iron Armor: 300 stack
Plate Armor: 500 stack
Guild Leader: (see above stack tax) x total guild members (Guild leader is in leather armor and has 2 followers means 200 x 3 = 600)
• 3.
You are not allowed to block the king's road with any building structures or place-able objects!
Bandits (for example) can make ambushes if they cut a tree and block the road with it!
• 4.
Griefing is not allowed. This includes:
1. Continued Harassment of players attempting to gather resources.
2. Extreme profanity / swearing / mocking of other players.
3. Continued use of noise makers such as horns or other noise making devices.
Players may make use of their in-game emotes to chide / threaten players at any time.
• 5.
You are not allowed to block the road to King's hill. This is a "no build zone".
• 6.
You may siege a player that is known to have a prisoner / slave in their possession in order to free the prisoner / slave. You must first make 2 announcements with the specified reason to attack, so the opposite side has time to prepare defenses. You must wait .the password for server is 'westrp'. at least 5 minutes before starting the siege. You must end your siege if the prisoner dies or is freed.
• 7.
Players that attack another players structure / items (Banner Flags, work benches, etc) will allow the owner / guild mates of the home to attack in self defense. If the player attempts to flee the scene and lost in chase, players giving chase must dis-engage and is no longer allowed to search after 5 minutes.
• 8.
If a player observes another player vandalizing, they may attempt to capture via rope / shackle and ask the King for direction as to where the violator can be taken for trial / sentencing. If there is no King, or the current king is not online then the violator may be taken into that persons’ custody until a King is crowned or the current king returns. The player must provide food / water to the person in custody to ensure they do not starve during this time or face criminal charges. If the prisoner attempts to escape, you may kill them.
• 9.
Building floating structures are not allowed. All structures must connect appropriately. Admins may request a player to take down or add additional supporting structures on a case by case basis.
• 10.
Structures that are abandoned for longer than 7 days can be removed at the discretion of an admin or deemed abandoned and sieged / conquered by another guild.
• 11.
Making threats against the current king can be used as RP PvP (Treason) if the King wishes until the king is overthrown.
• 12.
Players that produce rope / shackles and attempt to get near you is a hostile action. You may defend yourself but must make a claim in open chat during or just after the event.
• 13.
You must present yourself (G-key) and ask a player twice in chat to stop following you if you observe them doing so before initiating PvP for self defense. If the other player presents himself and claims in chat he is friendly, he must remain friendly during that encounter. Failure to do so can result in a warning on up to a ban.
• 14.
A player must present himself (G-key) clearly in front of the other player before attempting to capture. See rule #12 regarding producing rope / shackles.
• 15.
Any player that claims “friendly” in chat or VOIP must present themselves and must remain friendly during that encounter. Failure to do so can result in a warning, on up to a ban.
• 16.
Players can refuse to present themselves to all but the King. Failure to comply with presenting yourself to the King is punishable by whatever the King feels necessary.
• 17.
A player may actively offer a duel by throwing down a guild flag and presenting himself. The player being challenged can accept by stating in chat he accepts the duel. No other parties may interfere with the duel until the duel is concluded.
• 18.
Bandits may attempt to break in and enter another player’s dwelling without the use of siege without warning. Any player inside the dwelling is considered a hostile and may be captured / killed / chased away. If the bandit is caught attempting to break in by the owner or a friendly of the owner, he may be engaged as a hostile during that encounter. If the bandit(s) that attempted to break in flees the scene and lost in chase, players giving chase must dis-engage after 5 minutes and is no longer allowed to pursue, ending the event.
18A.
If the player ID's a bandit, he may openly post their name(s) in chat and ask the King for justice. If the player knows where the bandit(s) live, he may siege their home to reclaim lost items as long as one bandit of that household is online. (use /list to verify) Player must use the default 5 minute warning in open chat he is going to siege. The player may continue to siege until the bandits:
1. Give back the stolen loot (plus any grievance the King deems fair).
2. The player(s) laying siege has died from counter attack of the bandit(s).
When either condition has been completed, the siege must end immediately.
18B.
Bandit's may attempt to break into another player's dwelling once per full day/night cycle. If the bandit is killed trying to break in, he must wait another full day/night cycle before attempting to break in again.
• 19.
Sleeping Players are free game. You may do anything you wish to them.
• 20
Territory borders must be established in order to let other players know they are trespassing on their lands. Territory owners must place at least a 1 block high wall or other markers to clearly indicate their legal land borders that is not to be crossed without permission. Anyone that crosses into another players "marked" borders and remains within their borders may be captured by the members of that guild and held for as long as 2 days before being let go. The player that violated the border can not call for help or receive any help from other players. No siege option is available.
*Exceptions to this rule would include players taking any road path to another destination or gathering static resources (wood / iron / oil / stone)
20a.
Prisoners can be set free at any time up to the 2 day hold time. Prisoners may also offer to pay a FEE for their release, however it is up to the land owner if they wish to accept or not. Another player may also offer to pay any agreed upon FEE for the freedom of the prisoner.
The land owners / guild must make 2 open chat statement indicating they have caught and imprisoned a trespasser.
20b.
Conquered land does not allow players to build on it, we are also banning any other construction item (Fireplace, Gallows, Treasure chest, etc...) from being built on another players conquered land. This removes the potential exploiting of circumventing a player's defenses.
